Keith A. Thompson  

Artistic Director

Keith A. Thompson is a multifaceted contemporary dance artist currently serving as Assistant Director of the Dance program and Associate Professor within the School for Music, Dance, and Theatre at Arizona State University, as well as their Center for Race and Democracy´s inaugural faculty resident artist. He danced internationally for the Trisha Brown Company (1992-2001), including serving as her Rehearsal Assistant (1998-2001); has performed with Bebe Miller Company; and is frequent performer, choreographer, and rehearsal director with Liz Lerman. As a teacher, he has taught master classes and workshops for Sasha Waltz & Dancers (Berlin), Tanzwerkstatt Europa Festival (Munich), the TsEKh Summer Dance School (Moscow), the International Dance Festival (Kyoto, Sapporo, Tokyo Japan), and the Korea Dance Festival (Seoul), as well as been on the faculty at the Florida Dance Festival, the American Dance Festival, served on the artistic panel for DTW’s Fresh Tracks (New York), as an adjudicator for the American College Dance Festival Association, and more. Since 2006, he has served as Artistic Director of danceTactics performance group, where his choreography has been featured in New York at Dance Theater Workshop´s Guest Artist Series, Dixon Place, Dance New Amsterdam, and the Dance Now Festival, as well as Harvard University, the University of Maryland College Park, the Dance Boom Festival (PA), the Jersey Moves Festival (NJ), the Aging in America Conference (CA), the Montpelier International Dance Festival (France), the Edinburgh Festival (UK), and Theater X (Japan). Keith received his MFA Research Fellowship in Dance from Bennington College (Vermont) in 2003.


Brendan Mccall

Brendan McCall is a movement artist, writer, educator, and arts manager. Originally from California, he lived in New York City from 1990-2008, before living abroad for 12 years in Turkey, Australia, Norway, and France, and then returning to New York in August 2021. He has performed with such artists as Alexandra Beller, Maureen Fleming, David Gordon, Sin Cha Hong, Paul Langland, Mary Overlie, Stephen Petronio, among others; and worked professionally in over 40 countries on 5 continents since 1993. He first met Keith Thompson in 2000, studied alongside him at Bennington College’s MFA Dance program, and has performed with him in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York, including collaborating with him on "Human Behaviors" at Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church. He has taught for over 27 years at institutions including the Yale School of Drama, the New School for Drama, New York University, Danshögskolan (Sweden), Bilkent University (Turkey), and The International Theater Academy Norway, where he served as Rektor from 2008-10. He served as Manager of the Cummins Theatre (Australia) from 2012-14, Producer for Grusomhetens Teater (Norway) from 2014-17, Director of Production for Tulsa Ballet (2019), and currently offers arts management consultation for a number of independent performing artists. His articles have been published in English, French, Norwegian, Russian, and Belarussian since 1997, and he is currently on the faculty of Pace University & New York University. kristopher mcdowell

Kristopher McDowell is the Founder, and served as CEO for KMP Artists for 13 years in the United States and is responsible for the company’s expansion into Asia Pacific. He has produced over 1,300 performances in North America and toured major companies between 17 countries in the Americas, Asia and the Middle East. McDowell is Co-Founder of Rhizome Arts Consulting and the Artist Connectivity Collective. He now serves as a consultant for former KMP clients: West Australian Ballet; Mummenschanz Foundation; Cleo Parker Robinson Dance; Helen Pickett; and Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. An arts industry leader and global entrepreneur, McDowell began working as an actor and dancer when he was seven, and by his late twenties moved into various aspects of performing arts management and production. Today, he works to deepen relationships with artists and presenting institutions, seeking opportunities for international cultural exchange and maximum community impact.

She has spent years building her own marketing agency and her interest in the arts lead her to danceTactics. Aside from work, Sarah loves eating out around D.C. and exploring the city with her friends and family!
